Pen Covered Mailbox

Oh sure he covered a Mercedes with pens, what’s interesting about that? /sarcasm
Now this… this is art!
You can visit Mercedes Pens to see more pictures of this “ugly” mailbox.
Also, please note that not only has he contributed many pictures to this blog, he went that extra step and actually created his own for us! That should make all you slackers that say you’ll submit photos get on the ball!
Go Plowboys
Unusual Mailbox November 26th, 2007
From Chris L.
I see this one every day on my way to work here in Abilene, TX.
I can’t figure if it’s some new way to plow through junk mail or a totem to the nearby Roscoe, TX Plowboy high school team.
Yes, Roscoe HS has for its mascot the Plowboy. I know. I graduated from there.
I feel your pain Chris. The mascot for my high school was a Gopher. You might not think that’s such a bad thing but you were never taunted by the opposing teams with this:
We are the gopher girls
We go for gopher guys
They don’t gofer us
We wonder why!
(Make buck teeth (gopher teeth) sticking out over lower lip)
Happy Thanksgiving

Gremmy visited Mr. Witles to see if he had a Turkey mailbox up for the holidays. He did sort of. There’s a turkey driving the car!

Here’s a couple of mailboxes from the Itty-bitty photo blog.

Even More Mailboxes from Mr. Witles
Unusual Mailbox November 14th, 2007
If you recall Mr. Witles is the artist who created the Taj Mahal and the Headless Horseman mailboxes. I’m very fortunate to have relatives that live near him and plan on visiting him to show him my blog and get more pictures, over the Christmas holiday.
Here’s a few more that are awaiting their turn at his curb:

Here’s another mailbox from Mr. Witles of Glen Burnie.
He was gracious enough to allow my in-laws to take some photos of mailboxes he had in his shop and yard waiting to be displayed next.
Costas the Pen Guy Schuler to the Rescue
Unusual Mailbox October 30th, 2007
Between Trick or Treating, booster shots and tropical storms, this just isn’t the week for me to find any new mailboxes around the area. However, never fear, Costas from Mercedes Pens has been a busy pen guy. Not only has he been photographing mailboxes for us, he’s started a new Art Car blog. So be sure to check that out after you look at these cool new mailboxes.
Voodoo Junk Mail
Here is the voodoo mail box. I think its a way to ward off the “evil junk mail spirits”. I don’t know if its working for him, but I don’t go near the thing.
Horses in the Mist
Another drive by on the way to drop off my daughter at school. This one captures the mystery of horses in the early morning fog. The inner beauty of an ugly mailbox, the free spirit within.Huh???? What more can be said?
The Rock.
1000 years from now when they uncover this in some archeological dig, they will wonder what god it was meant to worship, what rituals were performed to appease the angry god #4505. This box is not only meant to survive a baseball bat attack but nuclear blasts as well. I know for sure their Netflix DVDs will survive.
Noas Arc
Is not really a mail box as it is a sculpture made up of old mailboxes. Most of the animals on the arc are mail boxes. Does that qualify?. I think its great and the artist who makes them his name is Patrick Amiot
