Jon P from The Confluence submitted this crazy mailbox. It belongs to someone in upstate New York. I even have the Google Map link to the exact address from Jon, so if I’m ever in the area I can check it out myself.

I wonder what the reasoning behind such a mailbox would be? Are they zoo keepers?

I don’t think I’m sticking my neck out too far when I say that’s one seriously bizarre mailbox!

According to local newspaper accounts, the wife loves giraffes, so her husband surprised her with this unusual gift. And what a surprise it must have been to come home and find this!

I absolutely love this mailbox my husband was wonderful enough to make it for me as a gift for mother’s day. I am blessed with a loving husband who would do anything to make me smile. MANY people have stopped and commented on what a wonderful job he did with it. I don’t feel it fits under ugly mailboxes, it is a loving gesture from a loving husband, that I am lucky enough to have found.

pookie, it’s always great to hear from owners of mailboxes I post, and the stories behind them.

sometimes I regret naming this blog Ugly Mailboxes, but anyone that’s been following along know that while I do post ugly ones, it’s mostly just strange and unusual mailboxes.

your mailbox is definitely different and well-crafted :)

Pookie is my friend, too, and anyone that knows her knows this is the perfect gift. It’s very cool. Her hubby is awesome for knowing the perfect gift for her and being able to make it himself. And it looks awesome in their rural setting.

I just stumbled on this site and I too am a giraffe lover. I would LOVE to have something like this in my
front yard. She is the luckiest lady to have a husband
to make this for her. Does he have a single brother who
wants to live in north Texas? Just kidding!! There is
NOTHING ugly about this mailbox! Giraffe lovers Rock!!
