What’s Wrong with Vertical?

Vertical stripes are more flattering. Vertical buildings save real estate. Vertical people are more productive, unless production is being measured in terms of population growth.
So why is it that people continue to resist the simplicity and function of a vertical mailbox post?

that’s actually a mailer-totter, a functional mailbox while serving as an outdoor playset for your kids

It’s strange how much effort has gone into the stand and then a perfectly normal box has been stuck on top.
It would have been cool if they had an off angled box built too
